Biography of Arianna Tagliabue
"I like mixing different techniques in the same work, says Arianna, and I'm also approaching digital printing. I treat it as an original print with limited editions, combined with traditional techniques ".
However, her favorite technique is the dry point on PVC. The first works reflect the artist's passion for architecture. "I've always been fascinated by urban spaces, including some industrial archeology and social housing." Among Arianna's election sites, there are also old factories, abandoned warehouses, power stations and power stations. This is where she gets her inspiration from her works. "I am a big fan of redeveloping old industrial spaces. With creativity and commitment, they can lead to really interesting scenarios," says the artist.
The theme most felt by the artist is childhood. Initially, if the children present in her works were only the inhabitants of the disfigured, gray and cold places that characterized her first works, they are now the protagonists. The theme of abuse, violence, the obligation to live in extreme and alienating situations is very close and particularly felt by the artist, especially because of personal experiences; over time, Arianna Tagliabue wanted to make it the center of her work. The children represented thus become icons of suffering.
For a few years now, Arianna Tagliabue has participated in some of the most important international exhibitions of engraving and graphic design, including the International Tiennale of Printing in Krakow, the International Biennale of Engraving in Cremona, the Biennale of Graphic Art of the dry point in Uzice, where in 2011 and 2017 she received a special mention for her works.
In 2015, she joined Prism Print International, an organization founded by Nigel Oxley and John Read, participating in several group exhibitions in Japan, England, New Zealand, Poland and Italy.
The artist lives and works in his studio in Capiago Intimiano, in the province of Como.
