    Biography of Yves Dubail

    Yves Dubail is born in the Jura (Beaufort) in 1930. The works of Yves Dubail, artist from Lyon, must be integrated into the world of constructed art, concrete and geometric art. An imperious rigor and a genuine spiritual asceticism lead the artist to express himself mainly in black and white (sometimes red interferes). Like - among others - Jesus-Rafael Soto, which we see the proximity, the artist uses Optical Vibration (feeling of motion in the perception of the viewer). Diligently and meticulously plotted, the lines (horizontal, vertical and oblique) create a space that subtly breeds multiple reports and a poetic meditation space. Seemingly obsessive and systematic, the work of Dubail is demanding and highly pure. In the vast carefully white space, Yves Dubail disposes, declines and makes his perfectly black rectangles dialogue in a more or less stretched manner. His subtle variations question the organization of the world, both metaphysical and minimalist games on the forms and the relationship between them.
