  Biography of John Baldessari

  John Baldessari was born in 1931 in National City (California, USA). He studied at the Otis Art Institute and the Chouinard Art Institute. He began to develop his own style of painting very early on, incorporating letters, words and photographs into his work. He is a conceptual artist, representative of the post-modernist movement. From 1980, he devoted himself to the realization of paintings made up of photographs and cinematographic images that he collected, reframed and colored (images from television, cinema, official images).
