Portuguese painter, Lourdes Castro is born in Funchal (Madeira) in 1930. Graduate in painting from the School of Fine Arts of Lisbon, she goes to Munich in 1957 and settles the following year in Paris with the painter René Bertholo, her husband; together they create the magazine KWY (1958-1963), support for a group of artists who are not interested in traditional art "standards" (
