Biography of Mario Radice
Mario Radice is born in Como in 1898. His painting, abstract, is constructed according to a precise geometry, based on a dynamic relationship between colors that determine new rhythms and "lyrical" vibrations. Mario Radice realizes large geometric shapes in a palette of warm colors, creating a serene and harmonious pictorial atmosphere. He belongs to the group "Abstracts of Come” (with Manlio Rho, Aldo Galli and Carla Badiali) representing a sort of Italian abstraction avant-garde, he is the most influential and most active member, gaining little by little a predominant and historical role in the first simmering of Italian abstract painting. Working in contact with rationalist architects, Mario Radice has been among the first Italian artists of the twentieth century to free forms. Mario Radice reaches an international fame by creating between 1933 and 1936, frescoes (now lost) inside the famous "Casa del fascio" in Come, House-masterpiece of architect Giuseppe Terragni. In 1932, he is among the leaders and founders of the review Quadrant, and in 1934, he attends the first exhibition to the famous Gallery del Milione in Milan, the first of a series of extremely long exhibitions. Note that the Venice Biennial present by 6 times a hall Mario Radice between 1940 and 1956, the Quadrennial of Rome does the same for four times (1943, 1947, 1955 and 1960). Mario Radice, probably one of the most influential figures of modern Italian art, dies in Milan in 1987.

Artists on display
The art and the artists display: proclamations, galleries, museums, personal or collective exhibitions. On walls or in shop windows, wise or rebels, posters warn, argue, show. Some were specially conceived by an artist for such or such event, other, colder, have only the letter.
Some were created in lithographic technic, most are simple offset reproductions. They are many those who like collecting these rectangles of paper, monochrome or in games of colours, in matt paper or brilliant, with many words or almost dumb.
We are happy also to be able to greet, by this pages, mythical galleries as those of Denise René, Louis Carré, Claude Bernard, Berheim Jeune, Maeght, Pierre Loeb and others.
