Le peintre et graphiste allemand Max Pechstein est mort le 26 juin 1955 à Berlin ; il avait 74 ans. Sa tombe se trouve dans le cimetière évangélique d'Alt-Schmargendorf de Berlin. En son hommage, avec respect, une fleur pleine de couleurs, le lantana.
