Pietro Consagra continuera de travailler, de créer, d'expérimenter et d'exposer ses œuvres jusqu'à sa disparition. Le sculpteur - et écrivain - sicilien Pietro Consagra est mort le samedi 16 juillet 2005 à Milan et repose, selon son dernier souhait, dans le musée à ciel ouvert de Gibellina (Sicile) ; il avait 85 ans. En son hommage, cette amaryllis.
