Ronald Searle is born in Cambridge (England) in 1920 into a family of the working class. As a child, he feels ineluctably drawn towards caricature. He begins to draw regularly from the age. . . of five years old and publishes his first drawings in a local newspaper while he is barely fifteen (1935), showing an extraordinary talent.
