  Biography of Roy Adzak

  Wright Royston, alias Roy Adzak, sculptor and photographer, was born at Reading (England) in 1927. Great traveller, he will settle in Paris in the beginning of the sixties. There, he will create a special place, on the high part of the district of Belleville, to welcome the young artists and to organize exhibitions for them. Roy will show his own works in a group of artists close to the Pop Art and in International Art shows. Adzak will still  be present at the Salon in May. The artist is an adept of experimentation. Generally, his sculptures are made with synthetic resins. Following his favorite way and method, based on the notion of track, he carves the forms or the volumes intaglio; so, it makes the reading of the work very uncertain, because you can inverse full and hollow. Adzak, who plays with the relieves and the lightings, will be very interested in the plays of perception. The artist passed away in Paris in 1987.
