Biography of Sato Ado
Ado was born in Yokohama (Japan) in 1936. Son of the Japanese painter of Paris Key Satô and the singer Yoshiko Satô, Ado decided to sign his works with his only first name in order to stand out from a very marked family imprint. Ado will study Aesthetics at Kéio University in Tokyo. During his studies, the young man became friends with Tatsuya Nakadai, Kishin Shinoyama or Masaya Nakamura. Graduated from Keio in 1961, Ado decided to move to Paris in 1962. He began his career very early and showed an interest in very varied forms of expression. With a style in constant evolution, without placing a barrier between figuration and abstraction, Ado will especially attach a type of expression called cold, in opposition with the formal concerns of his father. Ado has exhibited regularly in Europe, the U.S.A and Japan. Spotted in 1962 at the Biennale de Paris, the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris dedicated his first major solo exhibition at the A.R.C in 1971. The Japanese artist will be represented in France in the 60s and 70s by the galleries Templon (Paris), Arnaud (Paris) and Cavalero (Cannes). Between 1968 and 1975, the artist exhibited each year at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles and the Salon Grands et jeunes d'aujourd'hui. His work is part of collections of very large international museums. The artist disappeared in 1995.

Artists on display
The art and the artists display: proclamations, galleries, museums, personal or collective exhibitions. On walls or in shop windows, wise or rebels, posters warn, argue, show. Some were specially conceived by an artist for such or such event, other, colder, have only the letter.
Some were created in lithographic technic, most are simple offset reproductions. They are many those who like collecting these rectangles of paper, monochrome or in games of colours, in matt paper or brilliant, with many words or almost dumb.
We are happy also to be able to greet, by this pages, mythical galleries as those of Denise René, Louis Carré, Claude Bernard, Berheim Jeune, Maeght, Pierre Loeb and others.
