Biography of Pascale Parrein
Pascale Parrein is a painter and a printmaker. She studied at the Beaux Arts school of Rouen (1990-1992) and got a bachelor in visual arts from Paris I university La Sorbonne (1992-1994). Meanwhile, she obtained a master degree’s in fundamental physics and a Ph.D in optics from the Paris XI university-Orsay. Since 2000, she is working as a scientist / engineer and as an artist, establishing sometimes connections between both of the domains.
In order to improve her printmaking technique, she did several trainings and residencies, in France at the Atelier du Safranier (Antibes), Atelier Contrepoint in Paris (old Atelier 17) and abroad such as at the EPW (Edinburgh), KKV( Stockholm), Engramme (Québec), Circulaire (Montréal), Central Florida University (Orlando), the Franz Masereel Zentrum (Kasterlee) and more recently at Ge Grave (Geneva).
Between minimal expression and abstraction, the art work of Pascale Parrein, built by series, is a real insight into the matter, rhythms and interactions between the elementary forces. On paper, as well as on canvas, she explores the invisible, the unknown worlds to our mainly blind eyes. In overcoming the perception limits, the artist intentionally positions her work in the feeling areas.
Since 1997, she took part to several solo shows namely in Lyon, Grenoble, Montreal, Orlando, Paris … Her graphic work has been selected to many international print biennials such as Bangkok, Gwangju, Liège, Krakow, Trois-Rivières, Bilbao, Ulus, Sarcelles, Chamalières, Saint Maur and Taipei. She has been rewarded by several prizes.
Pascale Parrein lives and works in Grenoble since 2003.

Artists on display
The art and the artists display: proclamations, galleries, museums, personal or collective exhibitions. On walls or in shop windows, wise or rebels, posters warn, argue, show. Some were specially conceived by an artist for such or such event, other, colder, have only the letter.
Some were created in lithographic technic, most are simple offset reproductions. They are many those who like collecting these rectangles of paper, monochrome or in games of colours, in matt paper or brilliant, with many words or almost dumb.
We are happy also to be able to greet, by this pages, mythical galleries as those of Denise René, Louis Carré, Claude Bernard, Berheim Jeune, Maeght, Pierre Loeb and others.
